Soft Reboot / RAM Clear

“Soft Reboot” (also sometimes called RAM clearing) is an iOS troubleshooting technique that can clear RAM and may reset “zombie” processes. It is useful to do before starting a music session or if you run into problems that might be caused by memory leaks or zombies.

To do a soft-reboot

  • Hold down the button that you would use to power down your iDevice. Keep it held down until you are presented with the screen that says “slide to power off”.
  • While the slide to power off screen if visible, hold down the home button until the “slide to power off” screen is dismissed and you are returned to the home screen.
